Still coughing but quilting finished, now I'm just considering binding options...
Any and all comments welcome!

I'm Quilting - slowly...
I should have had the quilting on this one finished up quickly, it's not a particularly big quilt and I'm only doing (almost) straight line quilting... had it not been for my children kindly sharing the dreaded lurgy with me...
So after 4 days of no sewing action at all I've managed one hour and now after alot of wheezing, coughing and sneezing I'm heading back to the sofa with a honey and lemon.
Hopefully more progress this evening.

Moment of madness
You know when you start something at a not so opportune moment...
A bit of basting on the kitchen floor just 1 hour before school pick up time??? Also handily right in front of the snack drawer!

More Minky!
I finally got round to see my friennd Rachel who runs Minky Fabrics yesterday. She's had a few deliveries of new prints that I haven't seen yet.
I managed to restrain myself and just picked up a few items but there are still a couple more i'd like, but with my laptop finally in the shop I need to save my pennies...
I've been looking around at some patterns thinking about what to do with my lovely Joel Dewberry Aviary 2. I'm not a great fan of chopping things really small, I like to see the fabric designs in the finished quilt. I loved the garden fence block seen here at Hyacinth Quilt Designs and also Sarah's Disappearing 9 patch... descisions descisions.

WIP Wednesday
Not alot of sewing going on today, i've been unpacking all the fabric and things that were put away for Christmas. The feng shui (spelling?) of my dining room is all off, the table has been turned around which looks much better in the room but is useless for plugging things like the sewing machine and laptop in...
I did manage to start the Pinwheel Parade block from Leila's Skills Builder Sampler QAL. I seem to have lost the ability today to either cut or sew straight so putting it all together tomorrow could be fun!
I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced today.

My fabric purchases
Here's a peek at the fabrics i brought at the quilt exhibition at the weekend.
The blue and berry dot fabrics were remnants at £2 each - bargain! The racing cars are to make something for No 1 son, and I just loved the retro radios!
The Joel Dewberry Aviary 2 prints and coordinating Kona Berry were a complete impulse purchase! It was one of those that I hadn't seen in the flesh before but when I did it just had to be mine, and then I came home and ordered the bird fabric from the same line from Eclectic Maker - and here it is already! I have no clue what to do with them yet but they are so lovely...
And finally a bit of stash building... Well when FQ's are £1.25-1.50 you can't not really! Sorry for the poor lighting in the photo, it is the greyest of grey wet days and it's taken on my phone, FYI the top fabrics are pink and the bottom ones red! I was also really pleased to pick up some more of the Riley Blake prints to go with what I already have.
I'm not sure how the picture placement will come out from this Blogger phone app, fingers crossed.

My local quilting event
Once a year at The Maltings in Farnham, Surrey the local quilting groups and guilds get together to exhibit their wares and there's also a few halls of fabric shops and demonstrations too.
This post will be quite a picture-fest of inspiration, at least in my eyes.
The eagle and stained glass were really something special and the seaside themed quilts were really bright and cheerful for a winters day.
Perhaps tomorrow I'll try and post pics of the fabrics I brought.
