So I made a template larger than the hexie papers and got cutting strips of fabric, and then cut them down to squares (ish!), at this point I wasn't sure if a square was acceptable to use, or if I had to cut them down to a hexie shape.... opinions vary but please feel free to add yours below!
I'm using my Luna Moth prints, which I've had for absolutely ages and they are far too gorgeous to be sitting in a cupboard! Now that I have moved out of the dining room and into 'The Sewing Room' (!), my lovely old Singer sewing machine table is being used to hold the Wii and Playstations etc, so I thought maybe I could make a table runner to protect it.
Him indoors has informed me we are going camping this weekend - oh joy! - so I thought if I get all the cutting done I could take the hexies with me, my first portable sewing project! Yay!
What with the weather being so nice I even took the cutting out into the garden!
Also, is it Hexie or Hexy??? Gotta get my terminology right!
If you missed yesterdays GIVEAWAY announcement, you can see it here.

Love the colors you choosed, and sure a square shape is totally fine, I do this too, and less work than cutting it in a hexie shape (yeah think hexie, thats how I always write it)
Wish I could cut outside too, I need my own house pls
You're welcome! I use both hexy and hexie, not sure which it should be, whichever you prefer i guess. Enjoy your portable project. :o)
Ooh I've just started EPP too! It's surprisingly addictive. Glad you've asked the hexie question - I've been wondering that!
Me too, me too! I just did my first epp hexies tonight! Lol I had so much fun and made a lil travel pouch for them. I used my mini charms and eyeball trimmed around. Maybe ill try not trimming. Can't wait to see yours.
Exciting new project. Enjoy the camping. At least the weather is good for it.
