I was thinking of making a mini quilt to hang up and then last week Heidi @ Fabric Mutt guest posted the tutorial for this little cutie over at Jedi Craft Girl.
So here is my Chevron Doll Quilt.
I really wanted to bind it in black polka dot but haven't got any, so black and white safety pins it is - and that just happened to be out on the table already! I backed it in a yellow solid and hand quilted it in white, variegated yellow/orange and blue/purple Pearl cotton.
It finished up at 13" square, perfect.
And now to hang it... I had some lovely red and white bakers twine that I was going to string up, but do you think I can find it? No! Then I remembered 2 small measuring tapes that came out of Christmas crackers, I have sewn them together and if I can ever find the drawing pins they will be used instead!
Edited to add the hanging pictures!
Ah yes, that's better!

It looks fab, and I love the safety pin binding!
Cute! I like the hand quilting, too :) I'm working on my first wall hanging and it's for my sewing room as well. How are you going to hang it? I don't know how!
That is one sweet quilt! Looks like it was a lot of fun to make. The binding is perfect... All the pins lined up sew straight! And the quilting is darling. I love it!
That's a perfect sewing corner now!
What a cute doll quilt. I am glad you had no polka dots, the safety pin binding is perfect!
Oh perfect!
The quilt is very cute and the tape measures were an excellent way to hang small quilts, very appropriate!
Everything on your wall is adorable and that binding with the safety pins is so neat! Thanks for sharing.

Love those safety pins and the perfect little stitches! And that's a really cute idea for an inspiration wall with the tape measure.
Very sweet! I love your little hand stitches. I've never done a wall hanging either, and am thinking I will tackle that soon! Love it hanging on its "clothesline". :)
Very sweet little quilt. I love the use of the tape measure. I will be "borrowing" that idea.

That is so cute, Karen! Love that design - I've been looking at it for a full-size quilt! Whoop whoop for a lovely finish!
I like the multi colored pick stitch.
