Did anyone else catch this post from Moda Bake Shop this morning? A Day in Central Park...
I've been wanting to do a rag quilt with my Urban Circus by Laurie Wisburn fabric and needed a good, beginner proof tutorial to get me going. And look whats taking shape on my (very temporary excuse for a) design wall this afternoon!
I've come to a grinding halt already as I've run out of the print I decided to use for the backing, but a quick order to Amanda at Simply Solids (who has some Urban Circus on sale!) and I'll be back up and running in no time hopefully :o)
P.s. If you go to Simply Solids and get the Urban Circus or Tufted Tweets on sale, please mention you saw it here! Thx.
In anticipation of tomorrows linky with Lee at Freshly Pieced, I'll be linking this post with WIP Wednesday. Head on over there to see what everyone else is up to this week.
Stats:
Completed this week: 0
New Projects this week: 1
WIP: 3 (Black and white bed quilt back, Lily's QAL Dresden, Urban Circus Rag Quilt)

Tuesday Tutorials
As you know I'm a quilting novice... The local quilting clubs/groups have waiting lists and I only know one person who quilts, so online tutorials are a godsend for me.
So far thanks to tutorials I have my black and white quilt in progress (based on Moda Bake Shop Sugar Pop n Change), my Fruitilicious Baby quilt in progress (based on Colorbrick), some storage cubes made and a mug rug... and I'm still eager for more!
So I thought I would share with you the tutorial I'm either currently working on, or planning to work on!
Over at Stash Revolution, Sarah has posted a whole host of hot pad and pot holder tutorial links!
This one from Oh, Fransson really caught my eye as it has a dual funtionality, with its multiple layers it works as a hot pad and with the cut out for your hand it functions as an oven mitt too. I've also been on the Flikr pool and been even more inspired by some of the fabric choices everyone has used.
The tutorial can be found here.
Whether this becomes a regular Tuesday post I don't know but for the moment I'm going to be learning the basics of quilting through these smaller projects so hopefully I'll be able to complete them relatively quickly!
On a seperate note, I brought an EZ Quilting Easy Dresden today and will be looking for a good tutorial for that too! If you know of any please feel free to comment and let me know.
