A Tale of 2 Coins...

All things Quilty are going pretty slowly around here of late. What with the half term holidays and trying to keep the boys occupied...
here's the result of a bit of geocaching...

Lucas found a trackable coin! It's been around Germany, over to the USA where it went to Minnesota and New York State and then over here to the UK. We have dutifully moved it on, although only by about 10 miles!

And partying....

The car boot sale was disappointing and only yielded some ribbons and pearl cotton this week...

But there was time to squeeze in one more Super Mario block in the form of a coin...

This brings my total to 7/14 now, so halfway there with the damn 1.5" strips and squares! Woo Hoo!

Looking at the blocks laid out like this I realise I need to make blocks in other colours! The next block, a power up flower, will introduce orange and green to the colour mix, following that are Mushroom and Luigi blocks which will add even more green... but I need 7 more blocks so will need to get researching and drawing!

I'll be linking up with the usual parties;

Sunday Car Boot Finds

Sunday mornings car boot sale yielded lots for my boys in the way of toys and games, vintage Operation was a bargain for 50p! but for me it was all about vintage tea towels today.

A lovely brown floral and aqua blue Camp Iced Coffee and a black and white English Cheeses in Irish Linen marked MMR.

The Ovaltine Farm on Pure Irish Linen and A British Rail vintage trains and map on cotton.

This gorgeous Henry the Dog advertising 'Chunky' dog food by Scotex Ltd on Pure Irish Linen

And finally this beige and purple Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate tea towel, depicting a wrapper design from 1915 on cotton.

I've listed them on ebay but if you're a follower of my blog and would like any of them, I'll do you a deal! wink wink!

Wednesday's Car Boot Finds

It was overcast with a chilly wind so not much of a show at the car boot sale this morning, but I did get a 3 drawer organiser which is now the new home of my rubber stamps and inks, a pretty pink gingham single bedcover which I thought would be nice for a girly quilt backing and...

A coffin top for my antique singer sewing machine!!! How rare a find is that! The picture below shows an 1895 table, and that's when my machine dates to, so now I have the cast iron treadle, the machine and the coffin top - all brought seperately, just need a wooden top with drawers now... highly unlikely but you never know!

Lucas (No 1 son) also wants me to tell you that he got a Buzz Lightyear dressing up costume with his £1!
