I'm very excited about two things and just had to share!
No 1 - I did it!
I bit the bullet and had a go at hand sewn binding on my pot holder/oven mitt.
Sorry for the poor picture quality but it was dark when I took it!
It's not quite finished yet but I'm really pleased with how it's going, and I'm also making one in the strawberry fabric in the corner of the picture.
The tutorial for this pot holder/oven mitt can be found at Oh, Fransson.
I'm linking up with Lily's Quilts: It's Fresh Sewing Day Today
And No 2
I got an ORLA KIELY bag from TESCO - YAY!
These lovely pear design jute bags are being sold through Tesco with money from each sale going to the Clic Sargent charity - caring for children and young people with cancer in the home. Advertised as 'only in larger stores' I wasn't sure we'd get them in my local shop but yesterday there they were! I only had enough money for one yesterday, but I'm definately going back to try and get some more, I know a few people who would LOVE one!
P.S. There's also another vintage sheet FQ giveaway going on over at The Vintage Sheet Blog.

Tuesday Tutorials
As you know I'm a quilting novice... The local quilting clubs/groups have waiting lists and I only know one person who quilts, so online tutorials are a godsend for me.
So far thanks to tutorials I have my black and white quilt in progress (based on Moda Bake Shop Sugar Pop n Change), my Fruitilicious Baby quilt in progress (based on Colorbrick), some storage cubes made and a mug rug... and I'm still eager for more!
So I thought I would share with you the tutorial I'm either currently working on, or planning to work on!
Over at Stash Revolution, Sarah has posted a whole host of hot pad and pot holder tutorial links!
This one from Oh, Fransson really caught my eye as it has a dual funtionality, with its multiple layers it works as a hot pad and with the cut out for your hand it functions as an oven mitt too. I've also been on the Flikr pool and been even more inspired by some of the fabric choices everyone has used.
The tutorial can be found here.
Whether this becomes a regular Tuesday post I don't know but for the moment I'm going to be learning the basics of quilting through these smaller projects so hopefully I'll be able to complete them relatively quickly!
On a seperate note, I brought an EZ Quilting Easy Dresden today and will be looking for a good tutorial for that too! If you know of any please feel free to comment and let me know.
